Description

The 420-style hunting cap features the smallest silhouette among CPH’s lineup.
In old Japan, it was known as a “bird-hunting hat,” as the name suggests, originally designed for hunting purposes.
Today, hunting caps come in various panel constructions, but this model uses the most basic form—also referred to as a flat-top or Monaco-style hunting cap.

Due to its structure, crafting the pattern (template) for a hunting cap is particularly difficult, and many designs tend to produce unwanted wrinkles when worn.

At CPH, we’ve refined the pattern through repeated adjustments to achieve a clean silhouette free from unnecessary creases.
To handle wrinkles that can’t be eliminated through pattern design alone, we’ve inserted urethane inside the front brim, creating natural volume without forced shaping.

Additionally, the back has been made slightly deeper to enhance the sense of security when worn.
Though this compact cap follows the “classic” form of a traditional hunting cap, it is packed with meticulous details, making it a foundational model in the CPH lineup.
