A jet cap made with popular ripstop fabric used for outdoor and sports purposes has arrived.
Originally developed in the United States during World War II, ripstop fabric was created to reinforce materials for military uniforms and parachutes. The name “ripstop” comes from its ability to stop tears in the fabric: “rip” means tear, and “stop” means to prevent the tear from spreading.
This lightweight fabric offers high durability and is suitable for wear in various settings.
The fabric used for this cap is a fine 4mm grid ripstop, with attention to detail in making the grid threads visible, creating a three-dimensional checkered pattern for added texture.
The cap is made with a standard depth, but for this jet cap, I’ve chosen a slightly larger brim at 8cm to complement its design.
Additionally, to add unique flair, 200-size eyelets are placed in a triangular arrangement on both sides of the cap, giving it a distinctive character.
The back features an adjustable 20mm polyester strap with a NIFCO buckle, allowing for easy size adjustments.
Since this fabric is sulfur dyed, it has been pre-washed and dried. This results in a worn-in look, with fading and puckering (where seams shrink), giving the cap a great used appearance and adding to its unique charm.
